Depending on Krishna in All Circumstances

The material energy is extremely powerful. Therefore, there is no way that we can defeat it by our own puny endeavors. But if we take complete shelter of Krishna, who is the very source of the material energy, we can easily be free from the influence of the material energy. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita as follows:

daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī
mama māyā duratyayā
mām eva ye prapadyante
māyām etāṁ taranti te

"This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it."
-Bhagavad-gita 7.14

So why should we suffer for one minute longer under the stringent grip of the material energy. We should have enough sense to surrender to Krishna immediately.

Question: Intelligence Carried to Our Next Body?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

You wrote me that material intelligence is carried to the next gross body. But is it not said that everything material (wealth, wife, property) is finished after the material body is finished? I am thus not able to understand how material intelligence is carried to the next gross body. I mean, in that case, should we all try getting the best of material education?

If one is materially well educated in this life (without any spiritual knowledge), does it mean that he will again be as intelligent in the next life?

I am confused over this point. Please enlighten me.

Answer: Whatever You've Learned is Forgotten

Even though the material element of intelligence is carried over, still whatever you have learned is forgotten, and you must start all over again in your next life learning how to do everything again. However, whatever Krishna consciousness you have developed is carried over to the next lifetime. Therefore the truly intelligent person focuses on expanding his Krishna consciousness as the central point of his life.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
