Just as a light bulb which is not connected with the power source gives out no illumination, in the same way a person who is not connected with the ultimate source of all energies experiences a dull, superficial, ignorant, miserable existence. However, a person who is connected with that original source, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, lives at every minute in a brilliant, ecstatic, super conscious adventure. So now you make your choice whether you want to be connected or disconnected.

I am sorry to hear of the fire at ISKCON Austin, but am overjoyed at the same time that this took place while you were away. It is clear Krishna is protecting you.

Did the fire damage any of the Lord's paraphernalia? Were there any deities there? Is there anything I can help contribute to?

I hope Krishna has now made some nice arrangement for your stay while in Texas.

Answer: Lord and His Paraphernalia Undamaged

ISKCON Austin's building was badly damaged by fire and water. The construction company told us that it will probably be January before we can move back in.

By Krishna's grace the Deities, their paraphernalia, and Srila Prabhupada's books were completely untouched by fire damage and water damage.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
