Naturally Detached from Sense Gratification

The more that one advances in Krishna consciousness, the more he become detached from material sense gratification. Instead of vainly seeking happiness in the gratification of his temporary senses he will find his happiness in his loving relationship with Lord Sri Krishna, the magnificently wondrous Supreme Personality of Godhead. This cannot be artificially imitated, but it is factually experienced by those who are serious to awaken their dormant Krishna consciousness.

Question: Why is Education Required for Self-Realization?

Self realization is an automatic process of inner opening for reaching the Brahman. So how can somebody learn it through a certain course of a committed specific time period ? And it can never be the same for all as in each one's case it is different.

Answer: Self-Realization is Not Automatic

Self-realization is not automatic. If it were, the entire world population would be self-realized. On the contrary, self-realization requires dedicated discipline and expert training from the self-realized spiritual master. This is why is it stated in the Vedic wisdom (Mundaka Upanisad 1.2.12):

tad vijñānārthaṁ sa gurum evābhigacchet

“To learn the transcendental subject matter, one absolutely must approach a spiritual master."

Even an ordinary university education is not automatic, what to speak of the ultimate self-realization education. This is why the Vedic wisdom mandatorily prescribes that one must receive educational training from the bona fide spiritual master in order to become self-realized.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
