An Idle Mind is the Devil's Workshop

It is very wisely said that an idle mind is the devil's workshop. Therefore we must always keep our minds fixed on Krishna 24 hours a day. If we leave some gaps, some mental empty spaces, where we are not thinking of Krishna, maya or illusion will enter like a cancer and take over our consciousness. Therefore we must always be absorbed in thoughts of Krishna and serving Krishna. This will keep us on the safe side of existence and qualify us to return home, back to Godhead, at the time of death.

Answer: They Will Be the Most Successful

If a child is properly trained in Krishna consciousness, he is better equipped to deal with the material world successfully than any non-devotee child because he will have a perfect understanding of how both the material energy and the spiritual energy are working. In this connection the Bhagavad-gita 18.78 affirms:

yatra yogeśvaraḥ kṛṣṇo
yatra pārtho dhanur-dharaḥ
tatra śrīr vijayo bhūtir
dhruvā nītir matir mama

"Wherever there is Krishna, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power, and morality. That is my opinion."

Therefore with complete confidence Krishna conscious parents should see that their children are perfectly trained in Krishna consciousness.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
