Lord Caitanya's Transcendental Wake Up Call
Lord Caitanya is calling upon all the sleeping souls to awaken from the bad dream of maya and become happily situated in the insuperably sublime state of consciousness known as Krishna consciousness in which all material miseries become conspicuous by their absence. Let us all heed His wake up call and bring perfect happiness to ourselves and to the entire earth planet by chanting and dancing in ecstasy and feasting on sumptuous Krishna prasadam to our full satisfaction.

My question is: Whether my soul is experiencing distress or my materiel body is experiencing distress on my son's death? I may please be enlightened.
Your humble servant.

To answer your question: The material body is simply a machine. It has no feelings. Therefore the anxieties we experience in this material world are experienced by the soul, who is seated inside the body. How can the all-blissful soul ever be in anxiety? It is due to his foolish misidentification with the material body. When we become fully established in our spiritual identity beyond the material body realizing fully that we are the eternal servants of Krishna, we will no longer be pinched or titillated by the pains and pleasures of this material existence.

Answer: The Misidentified Soul Feels Distress
I am indeed sorry to learn of your son’s untimely death. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on this most distressful, unfortunate occasion. In such times of being removed from our loved ones we can derive great solace from Krishna's teaching in the Bhagavad-gita that for the soul there is neither birth nor death. To answer your question: The material body is simply a machine.
