Nothing Sweeter than Loving Srila Prabhupada

Back in 1971 I was holding back from completely surrendering myself to the process of Krishna consciousness. Being then a singer/songwriter, who was attracted to Krishna consciousness, I thought I would spread Krishna consciousness in my own way by writing and singing Krishna conscious songs for the spiritual elevation of my audiences. But the devotees were demanding more. They wanted me to adopt the lifestyle of a brahmacari monk living full time in the ashram as a surrendered disciple of ISKCON's spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada. I was not ready to give up my cherished so-called freedom (It was more like slavery to my senses.) to live the highly regulated life of a monk. But one morning while I was relishing the sweet sounds of the newly released Radha Krishna Temple album from George Harrison and the London Hare Krishna devotees, just by hearing the love in the devotees' voices expressed for Srila Prabhupada I could understand that they were a tasting a sweetness that was inaccessible to be. The love that a surrendered disciple feels for his spiritual master is indescribably sweet because it is completely transcendental to this material existence. Wanting to also taste that sweet ambrosial love that Prabhupada's disciples were tasting at that moment within my heart I also surrendered myself to Srila Prabhupada as his eternal servant. This magic most sublime moment was the pivotal experience of my eternal existence. My surrender to Srila Prabhupada lives with me within my heart eternally as my most cherished asset.

In this age of Kali evil becomes more and more predominant with the progress of the time. The only way to stop this hellish downward cycle is the wide scale name sankirtana, the congregational chanting of the holy names of God. This alone will sanctify the entire world and bring in a golden age of piety and love of God to this suffering planet.

This is not my view. This is what we have heard from great acharyas and is confirmed in the Vedic wisdom. I have no interest to present my views. What do I know? Therefore here I simply present what is the enlightened Vedic understanding regarding the many issues that we human beings have to deal with.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
