Now after reading Bhagavad Gita As It Is, I am in doubt that if Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is Lord Jagannath a demigod? Are Lord Krishna and Lord Jagannath not the same? Is the name Jagannath as powerful as Krishna's name? Whom shall I pray, Krishna or Jagannath? If I pray to Lord Jagannath, Krishna will be pleased and vice versa? Can we attain moksha by being devoted to Jagannath?
Thank you.

Answers According to the Vedic Version:
Question: Lord Krishna and Jagannath
I am from Orissa, India. So as in any household in Orissa, in my home also I was taught from the childhood that Jagannath is Lord of all Universe (Jagat-Nath). He is Purushottam or the supreme personality of the universe. If we pray to Him, we will attain liberation from this material world as he is Patita Pavana, the saviour of the fallen. Now after reading Bhagavad Gita As It Is, I am in doubt that if Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is Lord Jagannath a demigod? Answer: They Are One and the Same
There is no need for confusion. Lord Sri Krishna and Lord Jagannatha are one and the same. Lord Jagannatha is Lord Krishna in ecstatic remembrance of His Vrindavanpastimes. So whether you pray to Lord Krishna or Lord Jagannatha does not matter because they are both the same Supreme Personality of Godhead.
