Our Only Possession

Last Saturday 11 September 2010 as we were flying from Austin to Dallas to catch our flight to London there was some doubt whether we would make it on time or not. We had a tight connection in Dallas to begin with. And then on top of that our flight from Austin was delayed by another 40 minutes. This left us with the very real possibility of missing our flight to London. What made it even more harrowing was that after landing in Dallas we had to transfer from terminal A to terminal D to get to our London flight.

When such difficulties come there is only so much we can do to counteract them. We have to do everything possible from our side and then depend on Krishna for the rest. So I did everything I could. I called American Airlines and got their assurance that there was available space for us to rebooked on a later flight if we missed our flight. As we were landing in Dallas the realization flashed through my brain that there is only one thing that we can truly possess. And that is our Krishna consciousness. Nothing can take this away from us. This thought gave me great peace. If you have Krishna, you have everything. Anything else that we may think we possess will be ripped away from us sooner or later by the inexorable wheel of time.

Answer: Always Be Krishna Conscious

The simple method for attaining spiritual perfection is given by Lord Sri Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita as follows:

man-manā bhava mad-bhakto
mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru
mām evaiṣyasi yuktvaivam
ātmānaṁ mat-parāyaṇaḥ

"Engage your mind always in thinking of Me, become My devotee, offer obeisances to Me and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me."
Bhagavad-gita 9.34

From the moment you wake up in the morning to the moment you take rest at night always remember Krishna. The following web page will give you practical tips how to do this:
