Worse than Hell and Death

The weather here in Lithuania is now cold, rainy, and ugly, and I am coming down with some sort of cold. But still the preaching must go on. The teachings of Krishna must be vibrated for the elevation of the world consciousness. When the preaching is happening the miseries cannot touch the consciousness because preaching the message of Lord Caitanya quickly elevates both the speakers and the hearers to the transcendental platform. I cannot imagine a life devoid of sharing and spreading this nectar. It would certainly be worse than hell. And, if I could preach in hell, hell would also be relishable. But to live without sharing and spreading Krishna consciousness would definitely be worse than hell and worse than death.

Question: How to Work the Process?

I have some confusion and am requesting your clarification, if it be your desire. In the Lesson C20 you said, "This process works, if you work the process." What do you exactly mean by working the process? What is the process exactly and how do we exactly work it?

Thank You very much,

Your servant,

Hiten Pindoria

Answer: Follow These Items

How to execute the process of Krishna consciousness is very elaborately described in a book entitled "The Nectar of Devotion" by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The basic principles are as follows:

(1) accepting the shelter of the lotus feet of a bona fide spiritual master
(2) becoming initiated by the spiritual master and learning how to discharge devotional service from him
(3) obeying the orders of the spiritual master with faith and devotion
(4) following in the footsteps of great acharyas (teachers) under the direction of the spiritual master
(5) inquiring from the spiritual master how to advance in Krishna consciousness
(6) being prepared to give up anything material for the satisfaction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna (this means that when we are engaged in the devotional service of Krishna, we must be prepared to give up something which we may not like to give up, and also we have to accept something which we may not like to accept)
(7) residing in a sacred place of pilgrimage like Dvaraka or Vrindavana
(8) accepting only what is necessary, or dealing with the material world only as far as necessary
(9) observing the fasting day on Ekadasi
(10) worshiping sacred trees like the banyan tree
