Here's Why You Should Read This Every Day

In the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 9, Text 34 Lord Sri Krishna declares:

man-manā bhava mad-bhakto
mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru
mām evaiṣyasi yuktvaivam
ātmānaṁ mat-parāyaṇaḥ

"Engage your mind always in thinking of Me, become My devotee, offer obeisances to Me and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me."

So this is my goal here in Thought for the Day. Every day I want you to be connected with Krishna so that at the time of death you will naturally think of Krishna and thus be immediately transferred to the abode of Krishna, never to take birth again in this miserable world of birth, death, old age, and disease. I want to permanently free you from all misery.

Question: Take Shelter of Guru or Krishna?

Hare Krishna, Srila Gurudeva.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada, to you, Srila Gurudeva, and to Gurumataji.

Srila Gurudeva, kindly enlighten me. I am confused as we know that we can't directly seek mercy from Sri Krishna. So then why do we hear that we should just pray to Lord Krishna and He will help and protect us and will shower all mercy upon us? We also hear that we must first approach the spiritual master to be able to engage ourselves in devotion to Lord Krishna. So then why is it said that we should just directly pray to Lord because He will listen to us and help and guide us?

Kindly enlighten me, Srila Gurudeva!

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
