We All Know that We are Not These Bodies

Just consider how we normally intuitively think about and refer to our bodies. We never say, "I body" or "I am a body." We say instead, "I have a body." Just as we say, "my pants" we say, "my legs." We don't say "I legs." Even if our legs are amputated the "I" still remains intact. We speak of the "I" as something which is sitting inside the body.

Although everyone in the world has this natural intuitive understanding of the non-material spirit self, yet due to an unrelenting barrage of propaganda promoting material sense gratification as the platform of real happiness the entire world is being misled. Just like I remember as a boy hearing the non-stop propaganda "Things go better with Coca-cola" I was very much misled. I felt myself to be deprived of happiness because my parents would not purchase Coca-cola due to its containing caffeine.

This is why we need to regularly keep hearing the teachings of Lord Krishna to keep ourselves from being cheated by all of the false, lying propaganda which is going on everywhere.

Challenge: We Are God

If you think we are different than God then, I do not want to disturb you till you understand this by yourself..

Reply: Simultaneously God and Not God

The proper understanding is acintya-bhedabheda-tattva, the Absolute Truth is simultaneously, inconceivably one and different. In other words we are simultaneously different and non-different from God. Just as a drop of ocean water is simultaneously ocean and not ocean, we are simultaneously God and not God. The chemical composition of a drop of ocean water is exactly the same as the chemical composition of the entire ocean. Therefore that drop is ocean. But because we can't float a ship on it that drop of ocean water is not ocean. In the same way since God is eternal, full of knowledge, and bliss and we as spiritual beings are also eternal, full of knowledge and bliss qualitatively, we, the living beings, are qualitatively God. But because we cannot lift a mountain and hold it on our little finger for seven days, quantitatively we are not God.
