Our World Desperately Needs a Proper Leader

Our modern day society is in great difficulty because it is completely devoid of proper leadership. In fact, it is like a chicken with its head cut off. And there is not much more to be said in this connection. Because of this lack of leadership our global society will regress more and more into a total breakdown of the social order. Eventually we will become a global society of cannibals. The only person who is qualified to lead us out of this chaos is that person who has brought his six urges completely under his control. Srila Prabhupada has described that the whole world will follow such a person. In this connection in the Nectar of Instruction we find the following verse by Srila Rupa Goswami:

vāco vegaṁ manasaḥ krodha-vegaṁ
jihvā-vegam udaropastha-vegam
etān vegān yo viṣaheta dhīraḥ
sarvām apīmāṁ pṛthivīṁ sa śiṣyāt

"A sober person who can tolerate the urge to speak, the mind's demands, the actions of anger and the urges of the tongue, belly and genitals is qualified to make disciples all over the world."

It is such as person who can indeed lead the whole world out of chaos.
Therefore may there now be such leadership manifest on this planet to save the global civilization from complete, total ruination.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
