The Life You Save Will Be Your Own

There is an ancient saying, "Physician, heal thyself." It is indeed very applicable. When I go to my doctor's office I take it for granted that he is not sick. The doctor has to be healthy if he is going to make his patients healthy. In a similar way, if we are going to make the world Krishna conscious, we have to be purely situated in Krishna consciousness. This principle is stated by Srila Prabhupada as follows in his purport to Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Adi Lila, Chapter 7, Text 83 purport:

"A sincere student aurally receives the holy name from the spiritual master, and after being initiated he follows the regulative principles given by the spiritual master. When the holy name is properly served in this way, automatically the spiritual nature of the holy name spreads; in other words, the devotee becomes qualified in offenselessly chanting the holy name. When one is completely fit to chant the holy name in this way, he is eligible to make disciples all over the world, and he actually becomes jagad-guru. Then the entire world, under his influence, begins to chant the holy names of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra."

So the most important thing for spreading this Krishna consciousness movement is that we become pure chanters of Krishna's holy names.

I am very glad that you are appreciating my humble attempt to the teach the science of bhakti (devotion to God.)

Our particular universe is one of an unlimited number of material universes which make up the material world, which comprises a 1/4 portion of God's entire creation. There is also the the 3/4's portion, which is the spiritual world.

The material world, composed of millions and billions of universes, serves as a prison to rehabilitate those who were so foolish to try to enjoy separately from God.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Who is this Krishna?

Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth. He is all-attractive because he exceeds everyone in all of existence by possessing unlimitedly all the qualities that are attractive namely power, beautify, renunciation, knowledge, wealth, and fame.
