Krishna Consciousness Comes to Antarctica

By the causeless mercy of Srila Prabhupada and Lord Caitanya the Krishna consciousness movement has now also spread to Antarctica on 16 November 2016, the southernmost and coldest continent in the world.

The devotees who did this are Kesihanta Das, a Prabhupada disciple and Trivikrama Das. The two held the first kirtan in Antarctica and distributed Prabhupada’s books there for the first time, placing the Bhagavad-gita As It Is in several Antarctic research stations.

What’s more, in bringing a murti of Srila Prabhupada himself with them, they have ensured that the ISKCON Founder-Acharya has now visited every continent in the world.

I am confident that with the blessings of my Guru Maharaja, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami, and your non-stop mercy on all the fallen souls of this planet, the darkness of ignorance which is covering the souls of this world will be removed and they will be shown the path to reach the abode of the Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna.

One of my close friends is a non-vegetarian and he argues that he never kills any animal. He simply buys flesh from the market and eats it. Therefore he says he is not guilty of the sin of killing the animal and will not have to suffer any sinful reaction for such meat eating. Please guide me how to make him realize that what he is doing is sinful.

Answer: If One Pays the Murderer, He Is Also a Murderer

If one does not directly murder someone but rather hires someone else to do the killing, he is an accomplice to the murder and is also guilty of murder. Similarly by buying the meat he is paying the killer. Thus he is also guilty of murdering the animal and must accept the hellish reaction for this sinful act.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead.
