How to Possess Krishna

The sweetest, more relishable form of Krishna is His original form, which is manifested exclusively in Vrindavana. It is here in Vrindavana that Krishna eternally has His most intimate pastimes with the topmost of His devotees. Any devotee who aspires to serve and associate with Krishna in this topmost of all abodes is welcome to do so provided he has the same mood of total surrender to Krishna as exhibited by the Vrajavasis, the inhabitants of Vrindavana. The Vrajavasis will do anything to please Krishna without any concern for their own personal happiness or unhappiness. They simply want to see that Krishna is totally pleased in all circumstances. Because of their mood of total devotion to Krishna, Krishna becomes their personal property.

Question: How to Stay Motivated?

I have started my journey in Krishna Consciousness more than a year ago. I understand the basics about who we are and what we need to do to connect with Krishna. However, the trouble is I can still see myself being caught in either of three modes most of the time (well mainly two: passion and ignorance). I feel like I am unable to do anything about it.

Note that I do regularly chant 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna mantra daily on japa beads, visit temple once a week, and before eating offer my food to Krishna at least once a day.

Please enlighten me how to stay motivated in Krishna consciousness..

Answer: Take Shelter and Initiation and Obey Orders of Sri Guru

In the Nectar of Devotion, Chapter Six, Srila Prabhupada, quoting Srila Rupa Goswami, says that the three most important things one should do for elevating himself to the platform of sadhana-bhakti, or devotional service in practice are:

1. Accept the shelter of the lotus feet of a bona fide spiritual master.
2. Become initiated by the spiritual master and learn how to discharge devotional service from him.
3. Obey the orders of the spiritual master with faith and devotion.

If you will now adopt these principles seriously in your spiritual life, you will always feel motivated and enthused in Krishna consciousness. You will become solidly situated in Krishna bhakti.
