Hare Krishna Chanting is the Ultimate Love Feast

Everyone loves a feast. And the ultimate feast is chanting the holy names of God. How is this possible? When we partake of a feast there are so many varieties of tastes and sensations in the different preparations. And they give us much satisfaction and enjoyment. Since all of these tastes and sensations originate in Krishna they are all fully present in Krishna. And since Krishna is fully present in the sound vibration of His name, all tastes, pleasures, and sensations are also fully present in the two syllables Krish-na. Therefore those who carefully chant the Hare Krishna mantra every day with love are rewarded with a sweet taste for Krishna's name which makes chanting this amazing mantra the ultimate love feast.

Question: Should I Bow Down to the Demigods?

What should I do if I'm passing by a temple of a demigod like Lord Shiva or Lord Ganesh or other deities? Should I respectfully honor them and stop by the temple to bow down or ignore the temples since demigod worship is forbidden?

Answer: Respect the Demigods and Surrender to Krishna

In this connection Srila Prabhupada explains as follows in the Nectar of Devotion:

"One should not neglect to offer due respect to the demigods. One may not be a devotee of demigods, but that does not mean that he should be disrespectful to them. For example, a Vaisnava is not a devotee of Lord Shiva or Lord Brahma, but he is duty-bound to offer all respects to such highly positioned demigods. According to Vaisnava philosophy, one should offer respect even to an ant, so then what is there to speak of such exalted persons as Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma?"

From Srila Prabhupada's statement we can understand that since the demigods are great devotees of Lord Krishna we can offer our respectful obeisances unto them. Although it is not necessary that we have to enter every demigod temple that we pass by, sometimes we can enter and offer our obeisances. However, the temple of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Sri Krishna should be visited at least twice daily in the morning and evening. If this is not practical, then at least once a day we should enter the temple of Lord Krishna and worship Him.
