How to Bring Peace to Our Troubled World?

How can we bring peace to world that is currently experiencing more and more senseless violence from terrorism? Srila Prabhupada said that just as in a jungle there will be ferocious animals, in a society where everyone is an animal there will naturally be terrorists. Therefore the real solution for terrorism is to elevate the world population through proper education to the human platform. In this way terrorism will naturally diminish and gradually disappear. In other words, we have to teach everyone that they are not their bodies and that the human life is meant for self-realization. As long as people remain on the platform of eating, sleeping, mating, and defending the world will continue to be plagued by terrorism. Therefore we must educate everyone now in the perfect science of Krishna consciousness. In this way everyone will become perfect in love of God. They can keep their current designations as Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc. There is no harm. But they must come to a perfect understanding of what is the science of God. In this way we can all live together peacefully and happily on this planet.

Question: Are to Stop Doing Anything Except for Chanting?

When Krishna says "satatam kirtayanto mam", does He mean to say that we give up all activities and simply chant His names 24 hours a day, just like Srila Haridas Thakura? Is it that since our mind is not so much controlled and it will contemplate on sense objects (maybe due to lack of taste in chanting) even if we try to sit in a secluded place and chant all day long, we will become mere pretenders (as Krishna says in BG 3.6)? Is this the reason why Srila Prabhupada has instructed us to chant a minimum of 16 rounds and engage ourselves (and our mind) in other services for the remaining time?

Since we are not capable, due to our flickering minds, of full absorption in chanting Hare Krishna 24 hours a day Srila Prabhupada has engaged us in many varieties of devotional activities in accordance with our natures in order to help us become fully absorbed in Krishna consciousness and thus qualified to enter into the spiritual world at the time of death.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
