It's Time for the World Leaders to Step Down

It is enjoined in the Srimad Bhagavatam that one should not become a guru, a father, a mother, or any kind of leader unless he can deliver his dependents from the cycle of birth and death. To take any kind of leadership position is only allowed for those who can give Krishna consciousness to their dependents. This means that it is now time for all the world leaders to either become trained up in Krishna consciousness or to step down from their positions.

I do not believe in blind faith. I would like to know how should I develop faith?

Answer: Empirical Faith from Experience

Before you get on an elevator you may be skeptical that the cable will break if you get on it. But after entering the elevator and being successfully lifted to a higher floor without the cable breaking you now have faith in that elevator. Your faith is not blind because it is based on your experience that the elevator is safe.

In a similar way, you may skeptical that the process of Krishna consciousness can elevate your consciousness. But after trying it and experiencing the upliftment, you will now have faith in its effectiveness. Such faith in Krishna consciousness is not blind because it is experiential or empirical faith based on your own personal experience.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
