Awesome World-Deliverance Mission

Every day I remember the awesome world-deliverance mission given to us by our beloved spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, that we must deliver the entire world from ignorance and suffering, and I pray for his mercy that I can be fully absorbed 24 hours a day with all of my thoughts, words, and deeds in serving this mission to the very best of my capacities. Is it possible that we can be successful? Just as materially speaking it would be impossible to build a bridge of floating boulders between India and Sri Lanka for Lord Rama and His monkey army to cross the ocean and defeat Ravana, similarly from a material point of view, it would be impossible for a small band of devotees to deliver the entire material civilization from it chaotic condition. And just as Lord Rama and His army were successful, it is possible, by the inconceivable potency of Lord Caitanya, that we can be successful too. Therefore we must make an all-out herculean effort to pull off what will be noted by the historians as the greatest paradigm shift in history.

Why to chant the mantra? God has created life, so living according to His will itself should be like chanting.

I believe wherever is happiness there is truth and that is chanting.

What is the guarantee that the soul will exist after death, or who knows we will get other birth?

Who says that our actions are related with our next birth?

Answer: Chant Because God Wills That You Chant

It is it fact that living by the Lord's will is as good as chanting. But since the Lord has clearly stated His will in the Bhagavad-gita that we should be always engaged in chanting His name, living by the Lord's will means that we should always be chanting as much as possible. In fact if we do not chant, we are not abiding by His will. I sincerely hope that you can understand this simple point.

There are two kinds of happiness: illusory and real. Just like the mirage in the desert appears to be water but is nothing but dry sand, the illusory happiness of this material world has no real substance and can therefore not bring us genuine, lasting happiness. Actual happiness comes when we reconnect through loving service with the Absolute Truth, Supreme Person, the source of all existence. In this age this perfection of consciousness is attained through chanting the holy names of God.

Just as your body is constantly changing in this lifetime, similarly the time of death is simply another change of body. The higher authorities in the universe know what kind of body you will attain in your next lifetime because that change of body goes on under their direction in accordance with your activities in this present lifetime. This is confirmed throughout the Vedic literatures. Therefore those who are actually intelligent and philosophically inclined focus their energies on awakening their dormant Krishna consciousness so that in their next life they will attain an eternal, youthful body which is full of bliss and full of knowledge.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
