Teams from all over the world will be competing to control the soccer ball better than the other teams. Millions and millions of dollars are being spent in appreciation of this sport. But what will be the final outcome of the games? For one year or so one team will be considered the world soccer champions until they are eventually displaced by another team. How will this have improved the condition of the human race? Will there will be less disease? Will people no longer get old and die? No. The wheel of material miseries will continue to roll on unabated with great force. Will there be no crime, poverty, injustice, or terrorism? No. These unwanted things will also continue.

So if we enjoy playing a competitive sport, why not play that competitive sport in which the stakes are the highest and the end result is the most beneficial? This sport is the most exciting of all sports. This ultimate soccer game is to compete to see who will control planet earth, those who are saintly or those who are materialistic. If this planet can be conducted under the guidance of the saintly men, this planet will become heaven on earth. All the anomalies that are torturing the human society will be reduced almost to nil and the entire human population will become happy. Try to get that from a soccer game.

Answer: Give Yourself to Krishna

The best of all prayers is to pray to the Lord that we can be fully absorbed in His pure devotional service. In other words we should beg to fully give ourselves to Him without holding anything back, being prepared to whatever He wants us to do. There is no need of any other prayer because when one becomes such situated in pure bhakti he is automatically blessed with everything that is desirable. Even Krishna Himself becomes the personal property of such a pure devotee. And the best prayer to beg for this pure bhakti or pure devotion is the Hare Krishna mantra:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हर

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
