When Hell Becomes Heaven

We have now arrived back in Lima, Peru where we are in the association of wonderful devotees who are sincerely dedicated to serving the mission of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada. It is truly sublime to be here in their transcendental association. Even though the city of Lima is hell, a place full of pollution and crazy sense gratification, because we are in the company of sincere devotees of the Lord we are experiencing this hell to be heaven. This is the amazing transcendental nature of Krishna consciousness, that wherever you are in this material world you can be in a state of transcendental bliss simply by remembering Lord Krishna. This is due to the fact that Krishna and the remembrance of Krishna are non-different.

So, I like a girl. I like-like her. I feel intense emotions about her. I also feel intense emotions about Krishna. How to reconcile this? How to transform this lust into the greatest love?

Answer: Engage it in Krishna's Service

If one is in love with a girl he should understand that it is natural for a boy to be attracted to a girl because that original boy-girl attraction is there between Radha and Krishna. He should also understand that everything he finds attractive about that girl is nothing more than an insignificant portion of the all-attractive qualities of Krishna. In other words, he should not be carried away by thinking the girl is all-attractive since she only possesses an infinitesimal portion of a portion of Krishna's unlimited attractive potencies. In this way he should always appreciate her beauty as a small portion of the unlimited beauty of Krishna. Since it is natural for boys and girls to be attracted to each we recommend that they both become fixed nicely in Krishna consciousness and become happily combined as husband and wife as a solid lifetime commitment. The lustful tendency can be nicely engaged in Krishna's service by producing Krishna conscious children who will become the guiding lights of the human society.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
