Unlock Your Consciousness

Just as a mobile phone, which is locked into a particular mobile phone service, can be unlocked to allow the user to use a different mobile phone service, our consciousness at the present moment is locked into the material energy but can be unlocked for activating our spiritual mind, intelligence, and senses. The person who is empowered to unlock our consciousness is the bona fide spiritual master. With our present material eyes we cannot see God. But when our consciousness is unlocked we will be able see God face to face, eye and eye and become fully qualified to directly associate with him in an intimate loving relationship in any one five different types of rasas or relationship: neutrality, servitude, friendship, parenthood, or conjugal love.

Question: Where Can We Find the Urgency to Chant Intensely?

Dear teacher:

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

From my experience I have known that chanting with intensity does make a difference. This place has danger at every step, so we intensely call out to Krishna to save us and place us at His lotus feet. However, sometimes our lives become "too comfortable" so that we may not find this place is not our home, that we may forget the misery of repeated birth and death. We are still chanting with the proper mood, begging Krishna to save us, but the intensity is left out. That's why Krishna sometimes make us suffering a little from previous sinful karma, he is doing so to remind us of the misery of this material world. Why am I so foolish that I need Krishna to remind me this way?

I want to always remember Krishna and call out to him with great intensity, great ecstatic dancing spirit in my heart. In this connection Kuntidevi prays:

"Oh Lord let us not falsely claim this world is our home, let us not ever forget that this place is full of danger and let the calamities come again and again that we may remember You and meet with You again and again, for by remembering You we no longer meet with repeated birth and death."

I like this prayer very much. My question is: where to find the intensity when we live comfortably?

Your humble servant,
Yechen Zhang

Answer: Embrace Everyone's Difficulties

You can pray for difficulties just as Queen Kunti did. And also you can accept the difficulties of the human race as your personal difficulties by fully dedicating yourself to saving them from the jaws of birth and death. By taking humanity's difficulties on your shoulders you will have sufficient difficulties to keep chanting intensely for the rest of your life.
