It's really ecstatic to be back once again in New Dwarka, ISKCON Los Angeles, one of the most vibrant and enlivening centers of the worldwide Krishna consciousness movement. Here the worship of Rukmini and Dwarkadish is going on to the highest standard. Here also is the USA headquarters for the BBT, the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust, the publisher of the writings of ISKCON's founder-acharya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. It was here at this temple that Srila Prabhupada spent a lot of his time while in the USA lecturing, writing, and training his disciples in the science of bhakti. His personal quarters have been transformed into a wonderful museum consisting of transcendental artifacts of furniture and other paraphernalia that were personally used by Srila Prabhupada. In this holy place one can very easily feel the presence of Srila Prabhupada.

Answer: By Surrender to Guru and Krishna

Astrological influence or the influence of the planets means that we are under the influence of the predominating personalities of the planets. But these predominating personalities are under the influence of the three modes of material nature. This means that if we can rise beyond the influence of the three modes of material nature, we are automatically free from the astrological influences. And the way to become to free from the modes of nature is to fully surrender ourselves to Lord Sri Krishna by serving his pure representative, the bona fide spiritual master with faith and devotion.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
