How to Attain Pure Bhakti

The human form of life offers us the rare opportunity of escaping the cycle of birth and death and regaining our original position as associates of the Supreme Lord in His eternal transcendental kingdom millions of light years beyond this material world, which is called Martyaloka, the abode of death. The key to attaining this ultimate perfection is to be blessed by the mercy of Krishna's pure devotee. And the way to get that mercy is to please Krishna's pure devotee by submissively inquiring from him and by rendering loving unto him. Although there are many systems of consciousness elevation mentioned in the Vedic literatures, none of them can bring one to the perfectional stage of returning to the Lord's abode unless and until one is blessed by the mercy of Lord Sri Krishna's pure devotee. Therefore we should aspire for those blessings as the most important attainment of our lives.

Answer: All Types of Bodily Consciousness Lead to Sin

The first mistake that everybody in this material world makes is to misidentify themselves with their body, considering the body to be the actual self. This is utter madness because our real identity is that we are eternal spiritual beings, servants of the Supreme Being. And then because we foolishly consider ourselves to be the body, we make the second mistake of imagining that we will find happiness by gratifying the bodily senses. The strongest of all the sense gratificatory urges is the sexual urge, the desire to gratify the genitals. When we think that we can find happiness by gratifying the genitals, we are grossly mistaken. Whether we make this attempt through heterosex, homosex, or monosex (masturbation)) does not matter. Any attempt to find happiness in this way will prove to be futile. Therefore those who are advanced in spiritual understanding give up the foolish attempt to enjoy through heterosex, homosex, or monosex and instead focus their energies on awakening the unlimited reservoir of pleasure within their hearts through the process known as bhakti yoga or Krishna consciousness.

So my best advice to you is that should revive your dormant Krishna consciousness by regularly chanting the holy names of the Lord and regularly studying the Vedic literatures. In this way you realize that you are not that body and you will no longer be interested in wasting your time by running after the so-called pleasure of the genitals. There will be no question of artificially restricting yourself because you will be tasting a pleasure which is billions and trillions of times greater than any amount of so-called sex pleasure.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
