Who is Jagad Guru?

Krishna is jagad-guru, the spiritual master of the universe. And anyone who presents the teachings of Krishna as they are clearly revealed in the Bhagavad-gita is as good as the jagad-guru. If someone claims themselves to be jagad-guru but not does present the teachings of Krishna exactly as Krishna has presented them in the Bhagavad-gita, he is simply a cheater and a cause of great disturbance in the human society. Although he may be very expert in manufacturing his own theories and have a big title or be a famous author, he has no power to deliver anyone from the clutches of birth and death because he is himself not delivered from this material existence. Since Krishna is jagad-guru, one who teaches the instruction of Krishna as it is, on His behalf, may be also accepted as jagad-guru.

Answer: Who Prefers Suffering?

Even though it is commonly thought that there are many paths, this is not a fact. There are only two paths: the path of light and the path of darkness. I was born into a society which trained me to follow the path of darkness. But I was not satisfied with this path because I could see that it simply led to old age, disease, and death. I could not accept that life could be so miserable that there was nothing more to look forward to than old age, disease, death. So when I sought an alternative path the Supreme Lord out of His infinite kindness revealed to me the path of light, which leads to an eternal life, full of bliss, and full of knowledge. When Krishna showed me this path, switching to it was a very easy decision to make. After all what person in their right mind would not prefer eternity, knowledge, and bliss over temporality, illusion, and misery?

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
