Sweet Memories of Krishna Consciousness in Russia
22 October 2006, 5 am
Kaliningrad, Russia--In one hour we are departing from Russia, heading back to Kaunas, Lithuania. We will carry with us the sweetest memories of being here with the Russian devotees. It is so wonderful that Krishna Consciousness can now be freely practiced in Russia. Just a few years ago it was a crime which could cost you your life, or get you into prison, a concentration camp, or a psychiatric hospital.
Yesterday we had the sweetest, most blissful celebration of Govardhan Puja where I lectured for one and half hours, we offered arati to Sri Sri Gaur Nitai, we danced around a replica of Govardhan Hill made out of halava and a variety of sweets, and we then relished Krishna prasadam. As we left this joyous celebration many of the devotees followed us to our car serenading us the entire way with Hare Krishna kirtan. Then as we pulled away they begged us to come back again soon.

Question: Were the Brahmanas Biased?...
Recently, I was explaining about Krishna Consciousness to my father and about the difference in reading from authorized sources and other sources. He asked me, "Why in all the Vedic literature, the position of Brahmanas been placed superior to other castes? All the scriptures have been written by brahmanas, and isn't it possible that there is a bias?"I request You to please enlighten me.

Answer: True Brahmanas Have Equal Spiritual Vision...
The true Brahmanas of the ancient Vedic culture were not caste conscious. They were eager to elevate everyone to the platform of knowing what is Brahman and how to always live in Brahman.Later on after the beginning of the Kali Yuga the Brahmana class become corrupted by caste consciousness. They were no longer understood what is Brahman nor how to live always in Brahman. They simply wanted honor, distinction, and material facilities for their so-called position of superiority. It is this corrupt so-called Brahmana class that has spoiled India.
Our educational program is to re-introduce the original pure brahminical culture and restore India to her former glory.
