Krishna Says, "I am the Taste of Water."

I can never forget how fortunate I was on 27June 1971 to be in the physical presence of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada at the Ratha Yatra festival in San Francisco. After getting up on Subhadra Devi's cart before the parade started he gave the most wonderful lecture in which he told us how we could become Krishna conscious just by drinking water by remembering that Krishna is the taste of the water. Here is how he explained this:

"So this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is an attempt to teach people how to see God, how to see Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa can be seen if we practice. Just like Kṛṣṇa says, raso 'ham apsu kaunteya [Bg. 7.8]. Kṛṣṇa says, 'I am the taste of the water.'' Every one of us, we drink water everyday, not only one, twice—thrice or more than that. So as soon as we drink water, if we think that the taste of the water is Kṛṣṇa, immediately we become Kṛṣṇa conscious. To become Kṛṣṇa conscious is not very difficult job. Simply we have to practice it. Just like this is an example how to practice to become Kṛṣṇa conscious. Whenever you drink water, as soon as you are satiated, your thirst is quenched, immediately you think that this thirsting, the quenching power is Kṛṣṇa."

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
