Even If Only One Percent of the Population Accepts Krishna, World Will Be Transformed

Srila Prabhupada wonderfully explained in a lecture he gave in Los Angeles on 4 December 1968 that this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is for training people how to practice brahminical culture. He emphasized that there must be a portion of the population well versed in brahminical culture, Krishna consciousness. Then he quoted a Sanskrit verse: Ekaś candras tamo hanti na ca tara sahasrasaḥ. This means that if there is one moon in the sky, that is sufficient to dissipate all darkness. There is no need of thousands or millions of stars. Srila Prabhupada then stated, "Similarly, we do not expect that the whole population of the human society will be taking to this brahminical culture; but even one percent of the whole population accepts this brahminical culture, Kṛṣṇa consciousness, then the whole world will be peaceful. Not even one percent, less than one percent. It is so nice."

So if we can be fully Krishna conscious ourselves and make even one percent or even less than one percent of the world population Krishna conscious, there will be on this planet a wonderful golden era of spirituality and peace. So let's endeavor like anything now to make at least one percent of the world population Krishna conscious.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
