The Perfection of Time Management

The perfection of time management is to engage every moment in the service of Krishna, to not waste even a single moment in the service of maya or illusion. One who does this relishes the sweetest bliss within his heart in all times, places, and circumstances. Every moment of time is more valuable than all of the wealth of the universe. Therefore not even one nanosecond should be squandered on pursuits that are not beneficial for the self. Of course, we have full freedom to do whatever we choose to with our time. But in this connection we should always remember the very wise Biblical saying: As you sow, so shall you reap.

Question: Devotees Are Taken for Judgment by Yamaraja?

Hare Krishna, dear Guru Maharaja.
Please accept my humble obeisances,
all glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Is it true that the soul is not taken directly by the Visnudutas, Lord Vishnu's messengers, to the spiritual world, that the soul is first taken by the Yamadutas to Yamaraja, the god of death, for judgment, who then decides whether that particular soul goes to hell or to the spiritual world? Or it is that the Visnudutas directly take the devotees to the spiritual world without their having to be judged by Yamaraja?

Answer: Devotees Do Not Go to Yamaraja

In this connection Srila Prabhupada writes as follows in the Nectar of Devotion:

"A similar statement is in the Skanda Purana, which says, 'Persons who are decorated with tilaka or gopi-candana [a kind of clay resembling fuller's earth which is produced in certain quarters of Vrndavana], and who mark their bodies all over with the holy names of the Lord, and on whose necks and breasts there are tulasi beads, are never approached by the Yamadutas.' The Yamadutas are the constables of King Yama (the lord of death), who punishes all sinful men. Vaisnavas are never called for by such constables of Yamaraja. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam, in the narration of Ajamila's deliverance, it is said that Yamaraja gave clear instructions to his assistants not to approach the Vaisnavas. Vaisnavas are beyond the jurisdiction of Yamaraja's activities."

So the devotees of the never see the Yamadutas, the agents of Yamaraja, the god of death. They directly go the spiritual world without being dragged to the court of Yamaraja.
