Our actual greatest good fortune is to be reconnected with our original identity as eternal servants of the Lord in his most sublime kingdom, the spiritual world. Anything else that we may achieve in this life only has value insofar as it helps us to regain our original lost identity and to help others to achieve the same. Therefore we be very careful not to be deluded by the so-called good fortune found here in this material world and to always remain focused on what is our actual good fortune.

Answer: Return to Your Original Identity in Spiritual World

You are the eternal servant of the Lord, one of His personal associates from the spiritual world. Someone due to envy of your master you took your birth in the material world to try to be a lord on your own separately from Him. But as this is not possible, you have naturally failed miserably in your attempt to be happy away from Him. But that merciful Lord has kindly come to this world and spoken the Bhagavad-gita to give you the necessary guidance how to return to your original position in the spiritual world. Therefore your purpose in life is to go back to your original position in the spiritual world. How to do it? Krishna instructs you to accept as your guide His representative, the bona fide spiritual master. The spiritual master will then train how to become qualified to regain your original identity in the spiritual world as soon as possible.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
