Don't Serve Your Senses, Serve Krishna

Since time immemorial we have been serving our material senses in one body after another body in the cycle of birth and death again and again looping the 8,400,000 species loop. Such foolishness has gotten us nowhere. We get a little bit of instant gratification, but because of this we remain in a hellish, nightmarish deathlike state. Those who are actually intelligent know better than this. They know that by engaging their senses in the service of the master of the senses, Hrisikesha, they can achieve an exalted state of eternal consciousness far, far beyond the multitudinous sufferings of this most rotten material existence.

Question: Will I Go to Hell When I Die?

Hare Krishna!
Please accept my humble obeisances,
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
All glories to You!

I have two questions about chanting japa/following 4 regulative principles and hell.

1. If I chant at least 16 rounds of japa every day and follow the 4 regulative principles excluding the following items:
1) occasionally eat some pastry containing eggs and other foods containing gelatin, rennet, onions and garlic
2) occasionally observe women with lust
3) occasionally consume chocolate products (rarely also coffee and Coca Cola)

Will I go to hell when I die?

2. If I am not able to chant 16 rounds every day, but follow the 4 regulative principles excluding the mentioned items, is there a lower minimum of rounds of japa to chant every day, so I will not go to hell when I die?

The purpose of this question is to find a solid reference point for my spiritual practice, because currently there is no reference point of motivation for my spiritual practice that I understand.

Thanking You in advance!

Kind regards,
J.D.

Answer: Get Out of this Nasty Place As Soon As Possible

If you cannot fully absorb yourself in Krishna consciousness in this lifetime, you can pick up where you left off in your next lifetime. For example, if you become 75% pure in this lifetime, you have only 25% left to go in your next lifetime. You don’t have to start from scratch, from zero. Whatever spiritual advancement you make in this lifetime is your permanent asset.

But why not try to finish your business now. It’s just like when one goes for passing stool, he eliminates all of his stool. It’s not that he passes half of his stool and saves the rest for later because he is attached to it. No, because stool is dirty he wants to eliminate all of it as soon as possible.

So my best advice to you is that you should right now give up all of your bad habits and become a pure devotee so that your going back to home, back to Godhead is assured at the time of death when you pass out of your present body. Otherwise you don't know what kind of difficulties you may have to face in your next lifetime. Chant Hare Krishna, be happy, and get out of this nasty place as soon as possible. This should be your motto.
