Your Best Friends Are the Devotees

In this material world we are all seeking friendship. We can utilize this friendship tendency to awaken our dormant Krishna consciousness by making friends with the devotees and by giving our friendship to the non-devotees by helping them to become devotees. Friendships based on Krishna are eternal and ever-increasingly sweet, while friendships based on mutual sense gratification are temporary, disappointing, and unfulfilling.

On 16 March 2014 you wrote the following: ''No loss in this endeavor means that whatever spiritual advancement you make in this lifetime will be your eternal asset. In other words if you make 1% spiritual advancement in this life, in your next life you will pick up where you left off at 1%. You will not have to go back to 0%.''

Now it is a fact that before falling from spiritual world we were 100% Krishna conscious. So why should we begin our spiritual life from 0%, if spiritual advancement is our eternal asset? Why don't we begin our spiritual life from 100%?

Answer: Because We Are Covered by Lust

It is a fact that all us here in this material world are pure devotees of Krishna with 100% pure love of God within our hearts. But presently our asset of 100% pure love of God is frozen on account of our being covered over by lust. Now if we will totally surrender to Krishna without any hesitations or reservations, we will immediately come back to the position of activated 100% pure love of God. But because we are still foolishly hanging on to varying degrees of lust we are not yet fully reactivating the pure love of God within our hearts.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
