In the material world people try to be happy by this means and that means. But all of their attempts are artificial due to their ignorance of who they are really. Because they misidentify themselves as being their material bodies they center their lives around bodily pleasure and thus they never experience real happiness. It's a pitiful situation in which they are entangled as they futilely try to be happy. We should try to help them become liberated from illusion and attain the real platform of happiness by reconnecting them with the reservoir of real pleasure, Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Question: Softheartedness Required for Spiritual Salvation?

In Chapter One of the Bhagavad-Gita, Srila Prabhupada states many times that Arjuna is a softhearted devotee of the Lord and because of that he is eligible to receive transcendental knowledge. Would you explain what is softheartedness? What if one is not softhearted but has a hard heart, does he have a chance to go back home, back to Godhead?

Answer: Softheartedness is Necessary

Someone who is softhearted feels compassion for others. He cannot tolerate to see them in a suffering condition.

For going to back to Godhead this is a very important and necessary quality that you should try to develop to the best of your ability. It will automatically develop in you if you will try as much as possible to tell others about Krishna. Therefore Lord Caitanya has ordered us all to tell everyone we meet about Krishna.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
