Giving Bewilderment the Boot

Let's face it. The material energy is bewildering. To be stuck in a body that is getting old and dying is not fun. Plus on all sides we are surrounded by a chaotic world where we never know what is going to happen next. So how do we keep a peaceful, cool head in the midst of all this madness? It's very simple. You just have to have complete faith in Krishna that everything happening to you is for your ultimate benefit, that Krishna will never let you down, that He is your ultimate well-wisher, your best friend in all times, places, and circumstances. Never think that Krishna is letting you down or not being fair with you. Cultivate a vision that His loving hand is blessing you at every minute. Whether things seem good or bad, always have faith that Krishna is doing everything for your ultimate welfare, that He is always looking out for you like a loving father with your highest self-interest in mind. If you seriously cultivate this vision, you will never be bewildered even in the midst of the most apparently devastating reverse situations.

Answer: First You Must Qualify Yourself

God is not so cheap that He reveals Himself to anybody or everybody. If even to meet a great person in this world one requires a special qualification, we can imagine how much one must be qualified to see God. If you want to see God, you must first qualify yourself by fully surrendering yourself at His lotus feet. The Lord reserves the right of not revealing Himself to those who are not fully surrendered unto Him.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
