Who Are Our Leaders?

Who are our leaders? Our leaders are those persons who show us how to end the repetition of birth and death. Anyone who cannot show us how to escape this material existence is not qualified to be our leader. Because the modern day world society is presently being led by unqualified men who no idea what is the purpose of human existence, the entire world society has been plunged into a rapidly deteriorating quagmire which is at best only a show of a human society. It's time we stop following the pathway of those who in darkness and follow the golden road of unlimited devotion as chalked out by the acharyas, the great saintly teachers. This and only this will make us happy and rectify the chronically problematic world situation.

Question: Qualification for Going Back to Home

I have been told by some senior devotees in ISKCON that If I get initiated and seriously and sincerely to the best of my ability follow the sadhana bhakti path, chant my 16 rounds daily etc, that at the end of this life I will go back to Godhead -Goloka Vrindavan.

Did Srila Prabhupada say this, and where in sastra is the confirmation of this statement?

Answer: Follow this Process

Yes, what you have been told is confirmed by Srila Prabhupada. In his purport to Bhagavad-gita 18.57 he explains:

"If one gets a bona fide spiritual master and acts according to his direction, then one's perfection of life in Krishna consciousness is guaranteed."

It is also confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita as follows:

mat-karma-kṛn mat-paramo

mad-bhaktaḥ saṅga-varjitaḥ

nirvairaḥ sarva-bhūteṣu

yaḥ sa mām eti pāṇḍava

"My dear Arjuna, he who engages in My pure devotional service, free from the contaminations of fruitive activities and mental speculation, he who works for Me, who makes Me the supreme goal of his life, and who is friendly to every living being--he certainly comes to Me."
--Bhagavad-gita 11.55

One may wonder how the above verse is a confirmation of Srila Prabhupada's statement. This is very easy to understand. Because the spiritual master engages the disciple in following exactly this instruction of Krishna, Krishna guarantees that by following the spiritual master's instructions that the disciple will attain Krishna.

So, are you now ready to take shelter of a bona fide spiritual master?

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. Who is this Krishna?
