Unlimited Adventure at the Vanguard of Existence

Why live an ordinary drab material existence which culminates in old age, disease, and death when you can instead live a life of unlimited adventure at the vanguard, the leading edge, of existence relishing unlimited transcendental bliss at every minute? It does not matter where you are or who you are. You can constantly taste the sweetest happiness if you will take shelter of the transcendental platform beyond birth, death, old age, and disease according to the sublime instructions of the Bhagavad-gita, in which it is stated:

bahya-sparsesv asaktatma
vindaty atmani yat sukham
sa brahma-yoga-yuktatma
sukham aksayam asnute

"Such a liberated person is not attracted to material sense pleasure but is always in trance, enjoying the pleasure within. In this way the self-realized person enjoys unlimited happiness, for he concentrates on the Supreme."
--Bhagavad-gita 5.21

Answers According to the Vedic Version:

Question: Krishna Consciousness and Christianity...

Can you please clarify how a Krishna conscious person can also be a Christian? I was speaking with a Christian recently and he said that a Vaishnava cannot also be a Christian because Christians follow the instructions of Christ, and he apparently instructed them to follow him exclusively in the Bible (the 'only sacrificial lamb'). Also, if I understand correctly, Christians believe that Christ is God Himself, but Vaishnava philosophy considers him to be a pure devotee of the Lord but not the Lord Himself.

Thank you!

Answer: Christ Was a Vaishnava...

Christ was teaching the same principle of total surrender to God that is taught by Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita. So there is no difference between Christ consciousness and Krishna consciousness. The only difficulty is that the so-called Christians do not understand this. They have invented their own impure version of Christianity, which is quite different from what Christ taught. These so-called Christians do not actually follow Jesus. Christ taught against killing, but we see that the so-called Christians are slaughtering millions of innocent animals every day.

We have no difficulty accepting that Christ is the only way because pure bhakti is the only way. If any person is teaching that pure bhakti is the only way, we naturally accept that person as being the only way.

Christ never declares that he is God Himself. He always presents himself as the son of God. Of course in one sense Christ, or for that matter any bona fide spiritual master, is taken as God because he is a pure representative of God. This is something like when a government officer is acting on behalf of the government, he is accepted as being the government, even though he is also an ordinary citizen like you or me.
