The President of Bulgaria Gets a Bhagavad-gita!

On Monday, December 12 2022 I received the most wonderful report from my beloved disciple, Sarvabhauma Das, in Bulgaria. Here it is!

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I am writing to tell you the good news that yesterday on the last day of a book fair in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia where we had our book stand with the books of Srila Prabhupada and other Vedic literatures a memorable event happened for our yatra.

The current President of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, was passing by and we approached him and managed to distribute to him Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad Gita As It Is. He gratefully acknowledged our gift and also expressed his desire to donate for the book and gave twice as much as the real price. Then we shook hands and he also agreed to make a photo with us together. I am attaching so you can see two of us devotees who approached him and himself on the right. It was a very special and exciting occasion and we are very thankful to Srila Prabhupada for allowing us to be his instruments during this book distribution marathon and approach the head of the state and successfully offering him the king of knowledge in the form of the Bhagavad Gita.

I just though I would share this news with you. Probably you remember some years ago when your beloved disciple and my godbrother Narada Muni Prabhu, who also approached the former President then and managed to gift him with the First Canto of the Shrimad Bhagavatam. So we try to continue with this tradition,following in your footsteps and hope that these important persons will read the scripture and pay attention to the divine message for their and everyone else’s benefit.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
