There is no happiness like Krishna consciousness anywhere in the three worlds. There is truly no happiness that even comes close to comparing with it. Fabulous wealth, world wide fame, and power even up to the highest level of being Brahmaji, the demigod in charge of our universe, are totally dwarfed by the happiness of Krishna consciousness. So why waste time running after illusory happiness when you can constantly taste the ultimate happiness simply by awakening the natural love of Krishna that is already within your heart?

Question: Most Important Service to Guru?

Service can be rendered to the spiritual master in several ways. What is the importance of serving spiritual master personally? Is there any order of service from importance standpoint?

Answer: Serving His Orders

Service to the spiritual master is of the utmost importance because it is only by serving the spiritual master that one can realize Krishna.

There are two ways we can serve the spiritual master. One is by serving him in his physical presence such as cooking for him, doing his laundry, or by arranging preaching programs for him. This is called vapuh seva. The other way is by following his orders to awaken our Krishna consciousness and spread the Krishna consciousness movement all over the world. This is called vani seva. Of the two types of service vani seva is more important because the spiritual master’s orders are eternally present whereas his physical presence is only temporarily present.

So why bother with vapuh seva? Vapuh seva is a golden opportunity for the disciple because it helps him to fix himself solidly in vani seva. Therefore whenever the disciple gets the chance for vapuh seva, he should capitalize on it to the fullest extent.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
