Deep Sea Diving in Mauritius
Presently I am doing a lecture series on a paradisial island known as Mauritius in the Indian ocean located 560 miles east of Madagascar, which is off the eastern coast of Africa. I usually give lectures in hellish cities. But in Krishna consciousness it does not matter where you are, because wherever you are, you can taste the same transcendental bliss by diving deeply into the transcendental ocean of Krishna bhakti. One can be in the middle of hellish polluted city or on a paradisial island such as Mauritius. It does not matter, because in either place one can go deep sea diving into the transcendental ocean of Krishna bhakti experiencing unlimited bliss in the sweet nectar of remembering that amazing Lord Krishna, who is the source of all existence and the most merciful well-wishing friend of all living beings.

Devotion to Vishnu is not my mention. I have simply repeated the words of the Srimad Bhagavatam, the topmost of all scriptures. The verse I quoted, in which devotion to Vishnu is described, is spoken by Prahlada Maharaja, one of the twelve greatest devotees of all time.
There is no mistake in this concept of devotion to Vishnu because Krishna consciousness is devotion to Lord Vishnu in His original form, in which He is known as Krishna. This is why devotees of Lord Krishna are known as Vaisnavas (devotees of Lord Vishnu.) Krishna and Vishnu are actually the same person, but when God is understood intimately He is called Krishna. And when He is understood formally, He is called Vishnu.
It is a fact that if one wants to attain admittance into topmost spiritual planet, Goloka Vrindavan, that one must be devoted to Lord Vishnu in His original from of Lord Krishna. Therefore the name of Krishna is always given more importance than the name Vishnu. This however does not alter our philosophical understanding that devotion to Krishna is devotion to Vishnu and that the perfection of devotion to Vishnu is devotion to Krishna.
The expanded Vishnu forms are subordinate to Krishna. But the original Vishnu form is Krishna Himself and is therefore not subordinate to Krishna.

Answers According to the Vedic Version:
Question: Why Devotion to Lord Vishnu?
Why did you mention in "Thought for the Day" devotion to Lord Vishnu, when Vishnu is actually subordinate to Krishna? Why can't you just say glories of Krishna? In a recent post you use Vishnu, when devotion to Vishnu is not the goal of bhakti, and thus will not get you to Goloka because only Krishna prema will? It is not necessary to ever think of Vishnu. Simply if we water the root (Krishna) everything else is automatically taken care of. If you water Vishnu it doesn't mean Krishna is watered. A true lover of Krishna considers it a fall down to worship Vishnu. Please forgive my intense feelings on this, I am in no way trying to offend. I just feel very, very strong on this point. Kindly correct me, if I'm wrong.Your servant
