Question: Can Chanting Alone Lead to Perfection?

Thank you very much for your daily thoughts on the sublime philosophy of Krishna Consciousness.

There are so many rules and regulations to follow if one wants to become a sincere devotee of Srila Prabhupada and his disciples. If one is very much caught up in maya, even though aware of these rules and regulations, is it correct to assume that by at the very least chanting the Hare Krishna mahamantra one will be guided by Lord Krishna and it will be made clear what to do? I guess what I mean is that if one is not strictly following, but wants to follow in his heart, but is just stuck, can one just start with the chanting and be confident that the Lord will guide him? Can one just do this one thing-chanting the Hare Krishna mahamantra-and the Lord will slowly guide him step by step?

I hope you understand my question. I realize I am a fool by not following, but can I just start with this one thing?

Answer: If You Chant Sincerely

Yes. It is fact that even if you can't do anything else, if you will simply sincerely chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra as much as possible every day, by the power of Krishna's holy name your spiritual life will gradually become perfect. If you simply chant Hare Krishna, everything else will follow.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
