The Kingdom of God Without God

The foolishness of the modern day civilization is that they want the kingdom of God without God. This is the mentality of Ravana who wanted to steal Sita from Rama. One may delude himself for some time thinking that he can enjoy in this way, but in due course of time it will become painfully obvious to him that he has simply spoiled his human form of life throwing it away in the useless pursuit of material sense gratification. The fact is that we cannot have the kingdom of God without God. The only way we can enjoy residence in that unlimitedly sublime abode is to humbly submit ourselves at the lotus feet of the Supreme Person as His eternal servants. Then we will enjoy on equal level with God.

Answer: Devotee Association is Essential

Srila Prabhupada explains in his purport to SB 4.9.11 as follows:

"Transcendental devotional service cannot be complete and cannot be relishable without the association of devotees. We have therefore established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Anyone who is trying to be aloof from this Krishna Consciousness Society and yet engage in Krishna consciousness is living in a great hallucination, for this is not possible."

So the point is that if we are sincere about become Krishna conscious, we should take advantage of the wonderful mercy of Krishna as manifested in the form of ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. We have seen countless examples of persons who tried to become Krishna conscious away from the association of the devotees and who failed in their practice of Krishna consciousness.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
