Question: How to Advance to the First Class Stage?

What is required for a madhyama-adhikari to rise to uttama-adhikari stage? Madhyama-adhikari is already a high position. It is possible that they remain on this level and make no progress. Srila Prabhupada said that they can rise to uttama-adhikari level by associating with first-class devotees and studying sastras. Does the association Srila Prabhupada refers to here include following the guru's instructions, even after the guru departs from the material world? First-class devotee's association is rare in this world anyway.

Answer: Follow a First Class Devotee

A madhyama adhikari (2nd class devotee) is elevated to the platform of uttama adhikari (1st class devotee) by associating with and serving an uttama adhikari. A madhyama adhikari will naturally progress to the position of uttama adhikari simply by this favorable association and by carefully abiding by the scriptural injunctions.

If the madhyama adhikari is not able to associate physically with the uttama adhikari, he can also associate with the uttama adhikari by strictly following his instructions. This following of the the uttama adhikari's instructions is the best way to associate with and the get the mercy of the uttama adhikari and to be elevated the first class platform.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
