How to Know that God is Pleased?
During our retreat in Govinda Valley, one of the attendees asked me, "How do we know that God is pleased?" The answer is very simple. We have to see if the spiritual master is pleased with us. Because the spiritual master has been trained by his spiritual master to know what pleases God and what displeases God he can pass that same training onto us. In this way by placing ourselves under the loving guidance of the bona fide spiritual master we can know precisely what to do and what not to do in order to please God. In this way our spiritual lives can be full glorious and successful. We are assured to go back to home, back to Godhead at the time of death.

Its not that the materially rich are any better off spiritually than the materially poor.In fact, usually because of their being blinded by their material wealth they are worse off spiritually than those who are materially poor.
If we sincerely engage whatever material wealth we have, whether it be meager or profuse, in the service of Krishna, the Lord being pleased by our sincerity will bestow more and more wealth upon us to engage it in his service. Indeed if we become spotlessly pure devotees, He will give us unlimited wealth to engage in His service. This is real social for all problems, economic and otherwise.

Question: Why Help the Poor?
I am extremely concerned about the poor all around. Although a few of us are privileged still we keep complaining about the shortcomings on our lives. The poor have no means to acquire the Vedic knowledge to get liberated. Should we leave them to their destiny as it is the outcome of their pervious karmas and the Lord is accordingly making them undergo the sufferings? Please help me understand this and also forgive my ignorance on this basic question.Best regards,
Santosh
Answer: Everyone is Poor
The first thing is that we have to understand that everyone in the entire world is poor in spiritual realization. This is the greatest poverty of all. For the materially poor we should organize massive sankirtan parties to introduce them to the chanting of the holy names along with massive prasadam distribution to satisfy their hungry bellies. Its not that the materially rich are any better off spiritually than the materially poor.In fact, usually because of their being blinded by their material wealth they are worse off spiritually than those who are materially poor.
