Krishna consciousness is not something foreign or external. It is not imaginative ecstasy or cultism. The most sublime Krishna consciousness is lying there dormant within the hearts of all living beings. Therefore we do not require to impose it on anyone. Simply we must provide that suitable situation in which their natural original consciousness can be revived. Our mission is to turn the entire world onto Krishna consciousness. So we want to create that sublime atmosphere on this planet in which everyone can awaken and fully realize their eternal full-of-knowledge and full-of-bliss Krishna consciousness.

Question: I Used to Be More Attracted to Krishna

Today I woke up a little late and I did not chant my rounds. But I will chant them during the day. I have a question. I had a period some time ago when I was more attracted to Krishna than now. I don't know what happened why I don't feel so attracted anymore. Does this happen to a real devotee too? Is this normal?

Answer: Go Deeper into the Names

It is a natural for a neophyte devotee to go through phases of sometimes feeling more attracted to Krishna and sometimes less attracted to Krishna. This is because the neophyte is still under the influence of the modes of material nature, which are always competing with one another for supremacy. When the mode of goodness is more prominent the devotee will feel more attracted to Krishna. And when the modes of passion and ignorance are more prominent the devotee will feel less attracted to Krishna. The way to conquer over this dualistic nature of the material energy is to go deeper and deeper into the sound of Krishna's holy names. Chant intensely like a child crying out to her mother for help. This will gradually elevate your consciousness more and more beyond the modes of material nature so that you will eventually become steady in feeling attracted to Krishna and no longer have to experience the duality of sometimes being attracted to Krishna and sometimes not being attracted to Krishna.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
