After transmigrating through 8,000,000 different species of life in the germ, worm, plant, aquatic, bird and animal kingdoms you have now been blessed with the opportunity to escape the vicious cycle of birth, death, old age, and disease in this extremely rare human form of life. So do not foolishly misuse this rare opportunity by dedicating your life for sense gratification. Rather you should take shelter of a bona fide spiritual master and fully absorb yourself 24 hours daily in loving service to Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Source of all existence. In this way you will perfect your existence and become qualified upon leaving your present body to regain your original form and identity that you once had in the spiritual world before you fell down into this hellish material existence.

I was wondering why should we follow any kind of religion at all? What is true religion? Is there one religion for one person? Or are there many possible religions for a person in different times, places and circumstances?

The real meaning of religion is to know who you are be who you are. At the present moment we are suffering like anything because we are misidentifying ourselves with these temporary material bodies and thus most foolishly dedicating our lives for material sense gratification.

When one knows that his actual identity is as a spiritual being who is qualitatively one with God and that being part and parcel of God he is naturally meant to serve God and engages himself in the service of God, he has come to the true platform of religion. This is the natural propensity for every living being, just as the hand, which is part of the body, is naturally meant to serve the whole body.

So, religion is one, to serve the Supreme Person with love and devotion. One can do this as a Christian, a Jew, a Muslim, a Hindu, etc. Religion is the universal science of reawakening one's original, natural identity as the eternal servant of that Supreme Person Who is the source of all existence.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
