Question: Should I Give Water to Krishna or to a Dying Animal?

My dear Gurudeva,

A devotee has taken fresh water in a glass to offer it to Lord Krishna, but on the way he sees that an animal is dying of thirst, and the animal is not able to find water anywhere to quench his thirst. What do you advise in this situation? Should the water be offered to Lord Krishna, or the water should be given to dying animal who is terribly in need of water?

Answer: Give It Both to Krishna and to the Dying Animal

Offer the water to Krishna. In this way the water becomes spiritualized, and you become spiritualized by rendering devotional service to Krishna. Then give that spiritualized water to the animal. He will become spiritualized, and you will become even more spiritualized by giving the mercy of Krishna to others. Because the animal got water that was offered to Krishna he will become a human being in his next birth and will have the opportunity to become a devotee all because of your kindness of giving him water that had been offered to Lord Krishna.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
