Just as chess experts find great satisfaction exercising their brains coming up with strategies for being victorious in chess, those who are expert in the transcendental science of Krishna consciousness find great satisfaction in the ultimate chess game of trying to the wrest the leadership of this planet away from the hands of those who are in darkness and place it solidly in the hands of those who are enlightened with transcendental knowledge. Why play a chess game whose outcome is confined to a chess board when you can play a chess game which will impact the future of the entire human civilization? The planetary chess board is the playground of the enlightened transcendentalists.

Answer: You Can't But...

You can't. Until one realizes that he is suffering in this material existence and is seriously looking for permanent relief, he will not be at all interested in Krishna consciousness. However, if you can set a good example of how wonderfully blissful it is to be Krishna conscious, give this person your loving kindness, and patiently and intelligently explain to him the philosophy of Krishna consciousness, you may be able to inspire him to take up Krishna consciousness. It is simply a matter of convincing him that this a greater pleasure than any amount of material sense enjoyment.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
