Follow Exactly

The perfection of consciousness is to become fully Krishna conscious. This is the original, natural, pure state of being that we all enjoyed before we fell into this material existence. Now through following the sublime teachings of Krishna as given in the Bhagavad-gita, we can regain our original, pure state of consciousness. The key is that we have to follow the instructions of Krishna exactly as He gives them to us. It is not that we can manufacture our system of so-called spiritual emancipation. Such a concocted program will keep us in the repetition of birth and death. Only the exact process given to us by Krishna can save us.

Answer: 1,728 Mahamantras

Those who have accepted initiation vows chant the Hare Krishna mantra 1,728 times daily:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

We have chanting beads with 108 beads. We go 16 times around the beads daily.

16 x 108 = 1,728 repetitions of the Mahamantra

Since you are not yet initiated, you may chant whatever amount you are easily able to accomplish on a daily basis. But the more you chant, the faster you will make spiritual progress.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. Who is this Krishna?

Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
