Why Suffer Unnecessarily?

At the present moment we are suffering like anything in the nightmare of bodily consciousness. This is why Lord Caitanya is beseeching us:

jīva jāgo, jīva jāgo, gorācaṅda bole
kota nidrā jāo māyā-pīśāccīra kole

"Wake up sleeping souls!
Wake up, sleeping souls!
How long will you sleep on the lap
of the witch called māyā?"

Let us now heed his call and put an end once and for all to this unnecessary suffering.

Maharaj, can you please elaborate the concept of illicit sex. What all it includes? Does meeting of the partner before engagement or marriage comes under illicit sex? What are its consequences. How does it affects our spiritual life? And how to avoid illicit sex?
Please help me. Im a bit confused regarding this concept.

“No illicit sex” means to avoid having sexual intercourse for recreation instead of procreation.

It does not include meeting with one’s partner before marriage or engagement.

Illicit sex is avoided by being strict in one’s initiation vows. It is very simple. Do not get into the bed with the girl except for procreation.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
