Satisfying the Spiritual Master

In the Gurvastakam Srila Visvanath Cakravarti Thakur describes that the key for making spiritual progress is to satisfy the bona fide spiritual master. By adopting this principle in one's life magic happens. One feels a complete transformation of consciousness as he is transported to the plane of Krishna consciousness, the spiritual dimension beyond the cycle of birth and death. This most essential aspect of the self-realization process is precisely described in this beautiful 8th verse of the Gurvastakam:

yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasado
yasyaprasadan na gatih kuto 'pi
dhyayan stuvams tasya yasas tri-sandhyam
vande guroh sri-caranaravindam

"By satisfaction of the spiritual master, the Supreme Personality of Godhead becomes satisfied. And by not satisfying the spiritual master, there is no chance of being promoted to the plane of Krishna consciousness. I should, therefore, meditate and pray for his mercy three times a day, and offer my respectful obeisances unto him, my spiritual master."

Mr. Skeptic challenges that there is no such thing as the plane of Krishna consciousness. But we counter challenge Mr. Skeptic that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Anyone who wants to verify the existence of the transcendental plane of Krishna consciousness can easily do simply by satisfying the bona fide spiritual master.

Question: Does Narada Still Come to Earth?...

I wish to say thanks for your "Thought for the Day" and the pictures. Does the great sage and liberated space man Narada Muni not come to this planet any more, or does he only come here for devotees?

Answer: That's Up to Him...

Narada Muni can appear anywhere according to his sweet will and to anyone that he chooses. We should not assume that he is no longer coming here. He can appear whenever he wants to devotees and he can also appear any time he chooses to the non-devotees, just as he appeared to Mrigari, the hunter.
